Green·Safety Management Awards
for Three Consecutive Years

Hyundai Glovis has won both the Green Management Award and the Safety Management Award for three consecutive years in the 2021 Global Standard Management Awards. Hyundai Glovis was recognized for its achievements in continuously discovering greenhouse gas reduction projects and conducting various eco-friendly projects, and received the Green Management Award for four consecutive years. In particular, it voluntarily manages the GHG emissions from the outward bounders and indirect GHG emissions from coastal shipping (Scope 3), even though there is no obligation to assess them.

In addition, Hyundai Glovis has set a safety management policy of “One Glovis! One Safety,” continuously developed the safety system, and also received the Safety Management Award for three consecutive years. A good example is the establishment of the global integrated safety management system by successfully completing the ISO 45001 integrated certification reviews for 45 business sites in Korea and for 11 overseas corporations this year. Hyundai Glovis plans to continue to practice environmental management in all business areas at home and abroad, and create a corporate culture that values safety.

Joint venture with the BLG Group in Germany

Hyundai Glovis has signed an agreement with Germany's BLG Logistics to establish a joint venture for automobile port handling at Bremerhaven Port Terminal, and started the construction of exclusive infrastructure including three berths and a 100,000m² sized loading dock. Among the 11 major auto shippers in the world using Bremerhaven Port, Hyundai Glovis is the first to have a private loading space. In the 100,000m² site, approximately 5,000 cars can be loaded.

Expanding its non-affiliate shipments, Hyundai Glovis has been seeking to expand its own loading space for car shipments around the world and increasing competitiveness. Following Korea and the USA, Hyundai Glovis has also established an integrated logistics system in Europe, and is planning to use it actively to further increase non-affiliate sales. Furthermore, through continuous investment in infrastructure, the company plans to increase the ship operation efficiency and gain unrivaled competitiveness in the automobile carrier market.

A 500 billion won contract
with global finished car brand

Hyundai Glovis has signed a marine transportation contract worth KRW 500 billion with a global finished car brand. It is the largest contract ever with a single company since Hyundai Glovis entered the shipping business, and is also unprecedented in the global market. Hyundai Glovis plans to ship finished cars produced in China to Europe for one year in 2022.

Through the contract with Volkswagen last year and with this contract, Hyundai Glovis expects to further increase profitability by ensuring stable round-trip transport volumes between Europe and China. The reason Hyundai Glovis is attracting attention in the global finished car shipping market is analyzed to be that it provides flexible shipping services through a large fleet, and that it has established logistics infrastructure in key locations around the world. It plans to continue to strengthen cooperation with global brands by providing the best marine transportation solutions.

Sharing Warmth for Elderly
and Children at the End of the Year

At the end of the year, Hyundai Glovis has delivered Christmas gifts in a non-face-to-face manner to 500 persons ─ including the elderly, many of whom live alone, and children in need of social care in Seoul and Ulsan, where the business sites are located.

A total of 100 senior citizens living alone in Ulsan area were given "silver cars," which are walking aids to help the elderly, many of whom have difficulty in walking due to knee or back problems, or those who are exposed to risks such as falls and traffic accidents. As many as 400 children in regional childcare centers in Geumcheon-gu area were given miniature trees and back-to-school supplies. The miniature trees were significant in that they were home-made by about 20 employees of Hyundai Glovis. We plan to continue to share warm hearts with neighbors so that no one will feel neglected.
