First Korean Logistics
Company to Be Added to DJSI World

Hyundai Glovis, a global SCM company, was added to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index DJSI) for the first time in Korea as a logistics group as a result of ‘2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices’ evaluation. DJSI World is awarded to about 10% of the top 2,500 global companies by market capitalization.

Hyundai Glovis recently organized an ESG management committee composed of executives to strengthen ESG management, and their excellent efforts are the reason for Glovis being included in DJSI World.

First, they joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC), which the United Nations initiated to implement sustainable development, declared support for the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and stated their willingness to implement ESG management internally and externally. They also appointed female non-executive directors and outside directors with experience in the logistics industry to strengthen the diversity and expertise of the board of directors, in an effort for ESG management. In addition, they were highly evaluated in supply chain management, employee health and safety, human rights protection, and personal information protection.

There are 21 Korean companies that entered DJSI World, Hyundai Glovis being the only company that was entered in the category of global transportation infrastructure sector. In particular, this sector in which Hyundai Glovis is included is a field where leading global companies compete ━ including large logistics and shipping companies and public companies such as airports, and railway postal companies around the world ━ making it even more significant. Hyundai Glovis will continue to carry out sustainable management activities with social responsibility as a global company.

Safety campaign targeting 41 sites

Hyundai Glovis carried out a safety campaign at 41 sites across the country for two weeks from November 15 to 26. The campaign was designed to strengthen the safety awareness of employees at a time when disaster prevention is emerging as a major task for companies.

Among these 41 sites, Hyundai Glovis has dispatched safety experts to sites with particularly frequent vehicle movements such as its completed vehicle delivery center, Pyeongtaekhang Port International Terminal, etc. to conduct the campaign more actively. At each site, employees of Hyundai Glovis and partner companies called out together safety slogans such as “Check gear before getting off!” and “Check front and rear while driving!” ━ and provided masks and pamphlets with safety rules written on them. In addition, training was also provided for cases of accidents that may occur at logistics sites, together with prevention methods.

Hyundai Glovis plans to continue activities to create a safe workplace without accidents and to establish a safety culture that all employees can comply with.

Car carrier safe operation campaign

Hyundai Glovis conducted a “Car carrier (car transport truck) safe operation campaign” at Chungju Office, jointly with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. Hyundai Glovis carried out various safety training and support projects for its employees and suppliers' truck drivers to minimize safety accidents including overloading ━ and inspected the installation status of safety rails of the car carriers, and issued certification stickers through the campaign. Safety training was also provided to employees on how to avoid danger and stop while driving, precautions in working, etc.

Hyundai Glovis recommended the installation of safety rails on the side of truck cargo compartments to prevent falling accidents that may occur when loading and unloading vehicles, and provided them free of charge. It will continue its policy that puts safety first through more car carrier safe operation campaigns.
