Making Each and Every Person Feel Precious, Personal Touch

Making Each and Every Person Feel Precious,
Personal Touch

In Dale Carnegie's “How to Win Friends and Influence People,”
a survey of 10,000 successful people showed that only 15% of them succeeded entirely through their own ability,
while 85% succeeded through the help of others, i.e., relationships and connections, according to their responses.
This is a very insightful fact that emphasizes the importance of building connections and relationships with others.
What is important is how to build such relationships. So, let's reveal the methodology.

What is Personal Touch and Why It Is Necessary?

Personal touch refers to treating another person as a human being, not as his or her role, whoever the other person is. In other words, it is about understanding a person's emotions and situations to approach him/her; and if you treat others with this attitude and behavior, you can be more considerate and thus closer. This isn't just necessary for those in your personal relationships. The same applies to people whom you meet in business. This is because whether you meet the person for work and only do the work together, those who do the job are the people do it in the end.

Because we are not perfect, we sometimes make mistakes, ask for a favor, and have to lead work in the direction we want. In such situations, ultimately, the relationships we have with each other act as a lubricant to get things done. There is also a saying in the drama Songgot (The Piercer): “People don't listen to the right people, but they listen to someone they like.” So, if you want to be someone others want to work with, someone others like, or a close person, you need a personal touch.

What are the Effects of Personal Touch and How can it be Implemented?

At first glance, it may sound like we should eventually build close relationships. While it is right on one hand, the important thing is to create a pleasant work atmosphere. Some people dislike it when you come too close. So, you should not abruptly get closer to the other person, but rather show natural interest by approaching the other person without making him or her feel uncomfortable. Who would like to work with an awkward person? You just need to not show that awkwardness. Another way is to use the cushion language introduced last month. It is not too late to come up with a work story after recounting the personal schedule shared with you before.

When calling the other person, it is much warmer to call his or her name too, rather than just the title. When talking about important things, start with some small talk. By getting closer to the person naturally, you can build a positive impression and personal likability, which surprisingly has a great influence on the other person's choices; and furthermore, it makes us look friendly in the company the person belongs to.
