Deeper Understanding of Compliance Management Culture
2021 Comprehensive evaluation of CP activities

Following 2020, we have again promoted CP activities in 2021. As compliance management is a corporate responsibility, now the issue is how to quickly absorb the spirit of compliance and reflect it in work. In fact, we had more activities last year than in the previous year, and learned to understand the importance and the need. Accordingly, in the comprehensive evaluation of CP activities, we selected five teams for excellent activities and three excellent teams. Let’s see what they have to say and their activities to understand the establishment and reinforcement of a proper compliance management culture.

Senior Manager Choi Hyeon-gyu of Automotive Parts Logistics Team 2

The Automotive Parts Logistics Team 2 has put in much effort by disseminating the cases provided by the Compliance Team on the Compliance Management Day, raising interest through the compliance management quiz and word quiz that they prepared, and conducting process training on the cases that occurred in the past. We won the award thanks to the team members’ active participation and cooperation. They are all very enthusiastic about working hard in 2022 so we can win for two consecutive years. I will also work harder to establish a more mature culture of self-compliance.

Senior Manager Lee Jong-jin of Property Management Team

The Property Management Team participates in the Fair Trade Newsletter Quiz issued every month, and shares compliance letters. In addition, we keep them in mind in work so that no unreasonable issues occur in partner selection or contracts. Thanks to everyone’s cooperation, we have achieved good results. We were able to carry out the CP activities smoothly. Although we cannot all meet together due to COVID-19 restrictions, I would like to prepare some gifts. I hope we will achieve better results this year. Way to go!

We shared ideas by spreading the examples of other companies that are launching original compliance-related campaigns. It wasn't easy as half of the team was working from home. So we selected the best cases and delivered them via e-mail, and shared opinions on Teams. We did our best, as we were selected as an excellent case in the first half, but it feels overwhelming to be finally selected. Thank you, all team members, and let’s work even harder to get the prize and go out to eat beef!

We prepared our own checklist for illegal acts to prevent the risk of violation of the laws, and on the last week every month, we check with individuals to see if there are any problems. It’s a regret that we were not selected as the excellent team, but our own checklist activity was selected and our team members feel very proud. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for actively participating in CP activities despite their busy work schedules, and wish you all the best in 2022. Thank you.

Most of all, I emphasized the fact that it is an activity to prevent overlooked or missed things at work. So I searched cases of punishments of government organizations or other companies on articles, and shared them along with our company’s ethical guidelines, to make it easy to understand. I carried out the CP activities thinking to be faithful to the principles, and it was selected as an excellent case. It feels wonderful, and thank you. It was an opportunity to understand the importance of CP activities. Let's stay confident in 2022, Go, Bulk Liner Team!

I guess I wanted the excellent team award looking at the result of the first half. We tried to maintain our team’s own characteristics. I think it was possible because everyone participated actively, even though we worked in different regions. Our team’s greatest power different from others is the One Team.

Q. How active were the team members in this activity?

Every team member participated in the quiz posted on self-compliance website and achieved 100% participation. In addition, they all wrote a self-compliance oath in the beginning of the year and participated in all the activities. That is surprising.

In order to prepare for future growth, I believe that highest priority is the autonomous and active practice of fair trade by the employees. In addition, social demands for fairness and win-win management are increasing every day, so everyone should recognize the importance and work together in accordance with the company’s self-compliance direction.

Q. How do you plan to operate CP activities in 2022?

By inheriting the good energy from the last year, we will continue to work actively in 2022 to be selected as an excellent team again. We plan to deliver in-depth contents through various activities, such as special training by inviting labor attorneys, in-house training, and visiting compliance education, etc. We will need a lot of cooperation and interest from all the team members again.

I used the checklist to make sure that the team members are working in compliance with the standards. I made the checklist not by myself, but by cooperating with the team members. There were times when participation was low, but I reminded them of the last time’s award and encouraged them. I think they are being more careful in the selection of companies, and so forth, because they were awarded for CP activities for two consecutive years.

And the team leader also checked for the issues of subcontracts and fair trade that individuals could overlook, so we were able to share with all the team members.

In order to check for those things, it is important to check the contents and materials shared by the Compliance Team and reflect them in our work. I remember seeing a lot of data on subcontracting and fair trade issues recently. We should not miss the revised and newly established contents.
