Glovis Moment
Hyundai Glovis Takes Center Stage
at AW2025 with Smart Logistics Solutions
Hyundai Glovis made its industry exhibition debut at the AW2025 event, exceeding expectations. Showcasing its proprietary technology and future vision, the company was able to captivate industry professionals. We visited the site of AW2025 to witness it firsthand. 2025-03-28

AW2025 is Asia’s leading trade show for smart manufacturing and automation technology. With approximately 70,000 visitors, it is the largest exhibition of its kind in Korea. This marks the first time Hyundai Glovis has participated in an industry exhibition since its founding in 2001.

Through AW2025, Hyundai Glovis aimed to showcase its smart logistics solutions and E2E capabilities while proving that these technologies are ready for real-world operations. This objective was fully reflected in the “Hyundai Glovis Exhibition Hall,” which featured four distinct zones: “Glovis Attraction,” “Glovis Universe,” “Smart Logistics Solution Zone,” and “Stretch with Hyundai Glovis.”

The Glovis Attraction zone featured 3D anamorphic techniques

As soon as you enter the exhibition hall, you are greeted by the “Glovis Attraction” zone which attracts attention just as its name suggests. Using the 3D anamorphic technique (a video creation technology that appears three-dimensional from the viewer's perspective), it offers a space where you can visually experience Hyundai Glovis' smart logistics solutions and E2E services.

Could this be the feeling of transcending time and space? The Glovis Universe zone features a video that encapsulates Hyundai Glovis' past, present, and future in just about three minutes. Senior Manager Shin Jun-hyun of the Innovation Planning Team at the Future Innovation Technology Center, who planned and oversaw this year’s exhibition, explained, “We wanted to create content that effectively showcases our services at a glance, and the answer we came up with was video.” During the video screening, visitors are transported from an international airport to a smart logistics center, then to roads where autonomous TP vehicles transport cars, and finally to an automobile-only terminal. The video, displayed on screens surrounding the audience, enhanced the sense of immersion, making them feel as though they were truly in each location.

Up until this point, the exhibition provided a conceptual understanding of Hyundai Glovis' logistics services. The next section, the Smart Logistics Solution Zone, transitions into real-world proof of service, where visitors can explore specific examples. Detailed explanations are given about G-LAB's drone technology and the smart logistics solutions implemented at the Incheon Airport Logistics Center, among others.

“G-LAB is a research center that develops new logistics technologies and tests equipment or technologies for integration into our operations. The drones developed here have been in use since March at HMGMA (Hyundai Motor Group's U.S. corporation). They can autonomously navigate inside the warehouse, enabling large-box inventory checks without human intervention.”

“One of the strengths of our smart logistics solutions is that we offer a one-stop service, from consulting to maintenance. The launch of our warehouse control system ‘ORCA,’ which allows for customizable maintenance, is also a key differentiator.”

“The Incheon Airport Logistics Center supports fulfillment services such as airline self-clearance and automated cargo sorting. I'm proud to be able to showcase that Hyundai Glovis has established its own logistics center dedicated to air cargo at such a large exhibition.”

If we were to pick the zone that received the most enthusiastic response from visitors during the three days of the exhibition, it would undoubtedly be "Stretch with Hyundai Glovis." At the zone the company unveiled the logistics robot, “Stretch,” which was introduced as the first of its kind in Asia in October 2024.

Stretch is a logistics robot developed by the U.S. company Boston Dynamics. Hyundai Glovis, in collaboration with the robotics company, has applied a world-first de-palletizing function. De-palletizing refers to the process of moving boxes stacked on a pallet onto a conveyor. During each demonstration of Stretch, the area was so packed with visitors that there was barely any room to step, highlighting the intense interest in logistics automation.

“To introduce Stretch in Korea, we dispatched an engineer (Senior Manager Ryu Hyuk-jun of the Automation Technology Development Team) to Boston Dynamics for one year to acquire technical expertise. The response to Stretch at AW2025 exceeded our expectations, and I for one feel a great sense of pride. Moving forward, our goal is to contribute to our smart logistics solution business not only through Stretch but also by utilizing various robots from Boston Dynamics, such as Spot.”

The inspection capabilities of Spot are expected to be efficiently utilized not only at Hyundai Glovis facilities but also at customer sites.

The logistics services, technologies, and robots showcased by Hyundai Glovis at AW2025 demonstrate the end-to-end (E2E) services made possible by smart logistics solutions. Hyundai Glovis' smart logistics solutions, which simplify logistics processes and focus on efficiency, are poised to unfold a brighter future for logistics.
