Want to know what a day in the life of anAdvanced Technology Team looks like? Team leader Kim Tae-hoon and manager Gong Sun-man were filmed for a broadcast by Hyundai Motor Group! The video shows the team operating automation equipment at the Asan KD Center and demonstrating the operation of robotic equipment at the G-Lab, which was established in October this year, as well as researching, developing and verifying future technologies for logistics automation. Let’s take a look at the two Hyundai Glovis staffs who are spreading the word about the new world of logistics technology being developed by theAdvanced Technology Team!
Why do you think your team was chosen for the Hyundai Motor Group broadcast?
I know that over the years, many Hyundai Glovis People have worked to promote the smart, automated, and intelligent logistics as one of the future directions that the company should pursue, and I think that as a result of their efforts, Group companies have begun to take notice of our company as a result of your efforts, so I wonder why you chose theAdvanced Technology Team of the Future Innovation Technology Center, which is the company’s technology core organization. And since our team’s manager, Gong Sun-man, is such an outspoken personality, he participated in the filming of the company’s promotional video and did a really good job, so I think you must have been curious about what the team is like with such an employee working. Haha.
What were some of the challenges or fun things about shooting for a day?
When I first heard from manager Gong Sun-man about the filming plan of the Group Broadcasting Company, I expected to do well, but when I realized that the concept of the show required me to film with the team leader, I seriously wondered whether I should give up appearing on the show. The taping went from early morning to late at night, and I think the energy I expended was almost a week’s worth. My oldest child was a child actor for a few years when she was younger, and watching her on the set, I thought it was easy, but I don’t think I could do it again.
As you prepared for the shoot, would it be a good time to summarize the roles of the pre-tech team?
I believe it’s important to do a good job, but I think it’s also very important to get the word out about it, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how to get the word out about what our team is doing, and this was a great opportunity to do that, and I think it’s a little bit over the top because it’s a broadcast, but I think it’s important for people to know that we’re trying to show what we’re working on and what we’re thinking about as much as possible.
Following the Hyundai Motor Group broadcast, the team was also featured in the Glovis+, how did you feel?
I’m sure many of you are curious about what our team does, both within the group and within Glovis, and I hope this helps.
Filming will bring a lot of attention to your team, what are your future plans?
Now that we’re known for our in-house promotional videos, webzines, and corporate broadcasts, it’s a little overwhelming to think that all that’s left is to do good work. As many of you know, we opened our research and development lab, G-Lab, at the end of October. G-Lab will be used to validate and develop technologies needed by various business units within the company. Stay tuned for more information. By this time next year, we’ll have a lot to show for it.

How did you prepare for the Hyundai Motor Group broadcast?
A month before the shoot, I started a diet, but it failed due to the subsequent drinking binge. I watched a lot of vlog-type material to help me get through the shoot without feeling embarrassed.
Are there any key takeaways from your team that you would have liked to have been able to include in this video?
In fact, I know that other affiliates and teams are also conducting and applying research through automation and robotics. However, I believe that the Advanced Technology Team at Hyundai Glovis Future Innovation Technology Center is more focused on the logistics aspect, and I hope that is captured in the video.
Was there anything challenging or fun about filming in a vlog format?
I was very nervous during the shoot, surrounded by multiple cameras and a lot of people, so I don’t think I did a good job with my words and behavior, but I think I did my best. It was a new challenge and and a lot of fun!
Would you encourage other teams or coworkers to participate in a company-wide shoot?
Yeah. I would recommend it, and I hope other teams get a chance to do it, because I’m always curious to see what people do. Tigers die and leave pelts, but the Hyundai Glovis people are full of video! Haha.
Could you give us resolution about being a member of aAdvanced Technology Team?
In fact, it’s been a while since we established the Advanced Technology Team and started the project, but we are working on several projects and completing them well, so I think the team members are working really hard. In addition, we recently opened the G-Lab at the Center for Future Innovation and Technology, and I would like to research and develop technologies that will help the logistics field in the research area, work on several projects, and achieve meaningful results.
