Support for small and medium logistics partners and truck drivers

Hyundai Glovis announced the “win-win cooperation plan” focused on paying cash for small to medium-sized business partners, creating a logistics sharing fund, operating funds for mutual benefit and partnership, creating a safe workplace, and support for COVID-19 prevention. Hyundai Glovis plans to pay about 700 small to medium-sized logistics partners in cash for the full amount of transactions worth 2 trillion won per year. The target for payment is the small to medium-sized companies specified in the Subcontracting Act, and cash payment will continue until when the COVID-19 crisis is over. Moreover, on Lunar New Year and Chuseok, when the funding needs are temporarily concentrated, payment will be made earlier than the original payment date and before the holidays.

Hyundai Glovis also created a 20 billion won “Logistics Sharing Fund” to help prevent industrial accidents and overcome the COVID-19 crisis at logistics sites. With the growing awareness in industrial accident prevention in the society, Hyundai Glovis has continued to spread awareness for safe driving and is expected to build a wider safety net through the “Logistics Sharing Fund”. In addition, drivers who are unable to operate their vehicles due to COVID-19, will be paid up to 1.5 million won from the emergency livelihood funds per person.

Hyundai Glovis also plans to continue operating the “Fund for mutual benefit and partnership” worth 20 billion won to support the expansion of business and investment in new projects of partners, and the “Win-win cooperation fund” worth 8 billion won for cooperative cargo drivers. Through the fund for mutual benefit and partnership, the partners will receive support for investment in facilities, etc. without delay, and the interest on loans that cooperative cargo drivers got from financial institutions to purchase vehicles will be paid partly. The win-win cooperation fund will be used to set up various convenience facilities such as tables and gardens at highway rest areas where trucks frequently visit. In addition, for the safety of the employees of partner companies, image recognition alarm systems are installed on forklifts, and safety equipment such as automated external defibrillator and safety boots are provided. Furthermore, an external organization will be appointed to provide safety training to establish a safe management system at work sites.

Hyundai Glovis plans to take the lead in creating a healthy ecosystem by preparing various measures for mutual growth in the future.

Support for export logistics of SMEs using automobile carriers

Hyundai Glovis has signed an MOU in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in maritime transportation with the Korea International Trade Association. Accordingly, sea transportation will be supported using PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) to reduce the difficulties of domestic export companies experiencing shortage of ships.

Hearing the complaints that domestic SMEs are having difficulty finding ships for export due to COVID-19, and that they often have to pay high freight rates, and that it is reducing their export competitiveness, Hyundai Glovis agreed to support the mutual growth with the Korea International Trade Association. According to the agreement, they will help break-bulk cargo companies use the car vessels by early next year. Considering that the third quarter is the peak season for the shipping industry, when shipping volume is usually soaring, Hyundai Glovis' support is expected to help SMEs.

Hyundai Glovis plans to increase the competitiveness of Korea and the struggling break-bulk cargo companies by providing unused spaces.
