Aiming to lead the global market, Hyundai Glovis is carrying out projects in different places with bases all over the world.

Time to Seize the Opportunity for another Leap!

Since the establishment of Glovis America in 2002, the American region has been strengthening the existing completed vehicle transportation and total logistics, as well as promoting expansion of new growth projects, in North America, the center of the global economy and innovation, and in the Central and South American markets with indefinite potential.

The integrated logistics service platform that Glovis has built is contributing to increase in market share of the rapidly growing HYUNDAI-KIA in the American market, and also showing visible performance in the expansion of logistics business of EV and other OE makers. In addition, we plan to expand our challenges and leading roles towards the environment-friendly market by establishing EV battery life cycle business models and participating hydrogen trucks, etc.

To plan a model for a sustainable and development-oriented American region, we need to strive for localization. The resident employees have been sweating and toiling for the past 20 years, but the cooperation of experienced and talented local employees was also the growth engine. Future growth power beyond the captive market is possible only when we secure comparative advantage in the competition against the local LSP companies, and to do this, it is essential to communicate and cooperate in harmony with experienced local employees.

In the post-COVID "new normal" era, changes in businesses as well as in daily life are expected to accelerate in various forms. We hope that the Glovis people will also prepare for the upcoming changes in the new normal era by developing flexible thinking and differentiated competitiveness, and support Glovis America in making the uncertain era an opportunity for another leap. We pray for the health of all employees and their families at home and abroad.

Act When You Think!

I am honored to have an opportunity to share my feelings on the occasion of the company’s 20th anniversary. The reasons why we could continue to grow for over 20 years despite numerous crises and difficulties is that all of us knew how to cooperate and think of others before themselves; plus the help and support received from our clients and suppliers outside. I thank all of them for their support, and would like to continue doing business with and for them.

As you all know, the boundaries between industries are thinning. All fields including logistics, distribution, IT, energy, mobility, and culture are competing or cooperating in a single global market in this new era. Accordingly, the European headquarters of Hyundai Glovis is preparing for the fields where we can be the most competitive; logistics platforms, mobility hubs, e-Commerce, used car distribution, etc.

Personally, I like the saying ‘Act When You Think’ the most. I believe that about 5,000 people think the same thing at the same time around the world. However, only a minority of those people actually put their thoughts into action. I believe it is true. If you do not act, there are no consequences. I hope that we can all be people who act for the future.

Let’s Lead the Change and Innovation!

I am happy to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hyundai Glovis together with all of you. Starting with the establishment of Beijing Glovis in 2005, the China office has currently developed into a headquarters with 10 corporations. We concentrated on automobile-related logistics until 2019. Next, from 2020, we added three joint-stock companies with partners in China to expand business to direct transportation of completed vehicles, shipping, used car business, etc., and to discover and commercialize future growth industries.

For a person in Korea, his or her 20th year would be the year of coming of age. Although Glovis has been making great progresses, we will need to prepare appropriately for the future. In the future industry field, China has skipped the traditional development steps. With the popularization of e-Commerce, replacement of mobile payment, supply of electric vehicles, development of smart technology, etc., people are experiencing first-hand the rapid developments toward the future industry.

The business environment in China is not always friendly, but the resident employees and local employees are striving to develop new businesses, so as not to fall behind the current trends toward the future industry. To succeed in this, we need to analyze our competitiveness, consider carefully the things we need to do in this period in which the Fourth Industrial Revolution is taking place, and induce suitable outcomes for action.

I believe that the biggest asset of the company is the passion of our employees. I hope that we can lead the changes and innovations in the company based on your passion. The China Headquarters will walk together with us in the future direction toward the development of Glovis.

Pay Attention to the Center of Changes in Market Flow!

The Asia-Pacific Headquarters is a development potential market, growing into a global production base with high population and relatively inexpensive labor. Recently, it has also been rapidly rising as a new consumer market with diverse cultures, increased incomes, and purchasing power.

To accommodate these changes, we are expanding our business base by establishing new corporates and branches such as Anatapur, Vietnam, Indonesia, Dubai, etc., after the existing corporations in Chennai and Australia, in addition to expanding the SCM supply as a global sourcing distribution base as well as total logistics. Furthermore, based on the accumulated know-how of Glovis, we rooted the traditional logistics business firmly in the Asia-Pacific region, and are carrying out future business through various new ideas, although it is comparatively lagging behind.

In the center of the enormous change of the market flow is the Glovis Asia-Pacific I ask you to support this future growth region with interest. I hope that health and hope is with all the families of Glovis in these difficult times.
