The Blue Year of the Dragon has dawned in 2024. For the first time in 12 years, we’re welcoming the Year of the Dragon with a special message from a group of Dragon Zodiac Glovis working on different teams. Here’s how we shared our hearts with those we were grateful for in 2023 and the beautiful responses we received. We also share the New Year’s resolutions of three Hyundai Glovis people who ended the year with a special event.
“I understand that it must have been difficult for you to give up time with your family, but I am impressed with how you made the best of the situation. I am grateful for your support and dedication as a colleague. Your organization and tidiness are always appreciated when we work together. I was inspired by your hard work and ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Even while you were busy, you took the time to offer me helpful honeymoon advice, which I truly appreciated. I hope you will continue to find joy in your work and that all your wishes come true in the upcoming year under the energy of the Blue Dragon. Congratulations on your recent nuptials, and I wish you a sweet and happy newlywed life this year!”
“I am deeply moved to receive such a surprise from Sunyoung, who has always been incredibly helpful. We first worked together in early 2023 when I was transferred to my current position in the Operations team. Being new to my role, I lacked experience in many areas, but she was able to guide me through the process with ease. She was always quick and organized in responding to requests, even when they were unexpected, which was a great relief to work with. Not too long ago, during the overnight refueling claim incident, I could rely on her without panicking. With the New Year just around the corner, it’s nice to have someone to rely on during what is sure to be an eventful time.
Lastly, it’s a coincidence that Sunyoung and I are working together and getting married this year! Since she ‘planted the seed’ of marriage in 2023, I think it’s the perfect time for her to fill her newlywed bliss with ‘MAX’ in the New Year. Like a blue dragon soaring into the sky with a crystal ball in its mouth, I ‘predict’ that she will shake off all the accumulated stress and upcoming lousy luck and that 2024 will be full of smiles. ^^”
When I asked senior manager Lim Sun-young, born in 1988, how she felt about the return of the Year of the Dragon, she joked: “That’s a lie!” My personal New Year’s wish is for a happy newlywed life. On a professional level, she anticipates many changes within her team in 2024 and hopes everyone can adapt to the new changes easily. Lim has a plan to achieve her private and public wishes, which she calls the Miracle Morning. She plans to wake up 40 minutes earlier than usual and spend some time with a cup of tea, writing in her journal, or reading a book. Lim believes that even a short amount of time spent in the quiet of the morning is more valuable because she can focus on herself. She has also found that she is more relaxed when she gets to work, which is very satisfying. Lim aims to make it a daily habit for a while.
“I was unwell this year and had to work from home for an extended period. While my team was very considerate of my situation, Yoo-kyung was particularly helpful. Although my health issue made it difficult for me to come to work, Yoo-kyung provided comfort and support, both personally and professionally. She ensured I didn’t miss any important meetings and even helped me participate via video conferencing when necessary. Thanks to her, I could stay on top of my work and keep my mind and body together during a tough time. I’m incredibly grateful to her and wish everyone a happy and healthy new year in 2024!”
“I am delighted to have received such a heartfelt letter and a timely gift at the end of the year. This year has been full of challenges, and I would like to express my gratitude to Manager Kim Bo-mi, who has been silently taking responsibility for her work all this time (laughs). I know you’ve been struggling with your health this year, so I wish you a healthy and happy 2024!”
Manager Kim Bo-mi is who was born in 1988. She feels that time is passing by too quickly, making her feel both excited and sad about the Year of the Dragon. Manager Kim Bo-mi has been doing Pilates twice a week for her health since last year, and her first goal is to keep exercising steadily. Her New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to read a book every month. She wants to take care of her health and relax her mind, especially when she doesn’t feel like doing anything. Manager Kim Bo-mi has been going out with her husband and exploring the bestseller section of the bookstore.
“Manager Kim Si-on motivated me to join, and I was very impressed by her proactive behavior during the new employee training. Each of us was assigned to lead a different group, and seeing her lead encouraged me to do the same and encourage participation in my group. We had a great time during the training, and I’m happy to say that we have become valuable colleagues who can rely on each other even after the training ended. I would like to wish you all the best in 2024 and a happy and fun year ahead!”
“I would like to express my gratitude to manager Ahn Eun-jin for the unique opportunity she gave me to share her feelings. I truly appreciate the heartfelt card and gift she gave me. It was unexpected to become so close to manager Ahn Eun-jin while being in different groups during the Star Training right after joining the company. However, I believe it was meant to be. I am extremely happy that we have such great motivation together. Thanks to her support and advice, both inside and outside the company, I had a stable and happy year. The Year of the Dragon 2000, manager Ahn Eun-jin, I think this Year of the Blue Dragon will be even more special for you! Manager Ahn Eun-jin was born in 2000 and has been working for six months. She is excited about the Year of the Dragon and believes that everything she tries to do will work out. For the New Year, Manager Ahn Eun-jin has resolved to become a more proactive and successful team member. To achieve this, she has two specific plans. Firstly, she plans to buy a diary and write in it regularly. She realizes that even though she goes to work every day, each day is different, and she needs to write down how she feels about each day to give it more meaning. Secondly, she plans to take nutritional supplements. She keeps her nutritional supplements at work, where she spends most of her time, to ensure that she doesn’t forget.
Manager Kim Bo-mi, Senior Manager Lim Sun-young, and Manager Ahn Eun-jin gathered in one afternoon to share their gratitude and appreciation. They wished for the health and happiness of Hyundai Glovis people in 2024.
